Prestea Gold Robbers Confess To Crime

The Western Regional Police Command has retrieved the over $250,000 worth of God stolen by some workers of Sankofa gold at Prestea last week Tuesday, under the guise of armed robbery. Information gathered by The Chronicle newspaper from a highly placed source at the Tarkwa Police indicates that one Stephen Adom, together with Francis Kobah, both workers at Sankofa Gold, who hatched the conspiracy to steal the gold from their employers, are in the firm grips of the police. Stephen Adom confessed stealing the gold when he was interrogated by the police. According to the police, earlier investigations revealed that when the robbery occurred, Stephen called his right hand man (Kobah) in the conspiracy to find out if the robbery was what they had been planning all along. The two, together with five others have since been remanded in police custody, pending further investigations. The Chronicle has also been informed that the Western police command will hold a press conference tomorrow to brief the public on the outcome of the issue. The Chronicle reported last week that two armed robbers, wearing masks, attacked two security officers of the wholly owned Ghanaian mining company who were transferring the gold from the safe room to the plant managers office.
