Distasteful Utterances About Akufo-Addo Were Just Political Talks Ako Gunn

One of three persons who were jailed for threatening the lives of judges in the country, Godwin Ako Gunn says his distasteful utterances about President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during their campaign trails are just “political talks”.

He was humble on NEAT FM’s morning show ‘Ghana Montie’ when asked about his infamous “Nana Addo can never be president” utterances.

“Let us forget about all that. This is not the first time we have lost elections. Nana Addo is the president. I pray Nana Addo will fulfill all his promises,” he told host, Kwasi Aboagye.

The NDC communicator also urged the NPP fraternity to help Nana Addo achieve his aim for the nation – “The propaganda must stop, Ghanaians have voted for Nana Addo and I wish him well. The NPP must help Nana Addo just as we helped President Mahama achieve his aim.”

On Friday, December 9, 2016, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Charlotte Osei, declared the NPP’s presidential candidate, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo winner and President-elect of the Republic of Ghana.

The opposition leader polled 5,716, 026 votes to beat the incumbent President John Dramani Mahama who garnered 4,713,277 votes out of the 10,615,361 valid votes cast.
