As part of his appreciation for the massive support the New Patriotic Party enjoyed in the Ashanti Region during the elections, President- Elect Nana Akufo Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, donated hundred boxes of Adonko Bitters to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The gesture seen as a way of promoting patronage of made in Ghana goods saw the incoming President of the Republic of Ghana return the tremendous favour to the region where the NPP recorded their highest number of votes. 

Aside the 100 boxes of Adonko Bitters, Nana Akufo Addo and his running mate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia added 2 boxes of schnapps and a box of Hennessy to the drinks given to Asanteman.
 
During the visit, Nana Akufo-Addo thanked the chiefs noting that the pieces of advice, and words of encouragement from themcoupled with the unflinching and unalloyed given to him by the people of the Region enabled him and the NPP secure a decisive victory in the presidential and parliamentary elections.

The President-Elect in an address to the Council noted that, after emerging victorious on December 7, “I thought it proper to come here again and to thank you for your support.  I am truly grateful.”
