DKM Customers Praise Nana Addo...

SOME CUSTOMERS of DKM Microfinance Company Ltd in the Brong-Ahafo Region have attributed payment of the third tranche of their locked-up investment to promises made by president-elect Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo during this year’s electioneering campaign.

According to a lady customer who had gone to the Sunyani branch of the GCB Bank to cash her money, the increased payment was due to Nana Addo’s promise that when he was elected president the threshold would be raised instead of what was being paid to them. The customer who pleaded anonymity thanked the president-elect saying, “That is why we voted for him.”

Hundreds of customers started queuing from 4am yesterday to collect their monies. One of them, David Aa-uune, said he was still not happy due to the cumbersome procedure one had to go through before one gets one’s money.

The BA Coordinator of Registrar General’s Department responsible for the payment, Daniel Mack Danious, said the latest payment involved the third batch of customers who were to receive their monies. According him, the threshold is now increased to GH¢1,000. This means that those whose investments are up to GH¢10,000 but received only GH¢3,500 can now come for the remainder.

More so, those who did not get anything at all for the first and second tranches as well as those who received only GH¢10 or GH¢20 due to a supposed error, can now come for their money. He indicated that there would be a 4thbatch whose threshold would be increased again for those who invested heavily in the liquidated company.
