Party associates urged to guard against complacency

Mr Kwasi Aboagye, Vice Chairman of the Volta Regional National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Tuesday, urged party associates to guard against complacency and come up with strategic innovations that would make the party indomitable. He identified complacency, inability to embark on fund raising ventures, internal bickering and neglect of party work at the expense of government as an affront to consolidating political power. Mr Aboagye gave the advice during the election of new executives of the Hohoe-South Constituency of NDC at Golokwati near Hohoe. He said party organisation was cumbersome and entreated the supporters to evolve ideas that would break the party-government dichotomy for landslide victory in the 2012 General Election. Mr Aboagye urged the new executives and its entire membership to work assiduously to make the party appealing to win more souls into their fold, reminding them that hard work would always be compensated. Mr Joseph Z. Amenowode, Member of Parliament for Hohoe-South and Volta Regional Minister, advised the executives not to perceive themselves as the best to occupy such positions but rather the opportunity to serve. He urged them to strengthen the peaceful status quo in the constituency, a requisite for laying the foundation for a "Better Ghana" agenda. Mr Amenowode assured the people of government's support to the Youth in Agriculture Programme appealing that they positioned themselves to take advantage of the scheme. Mr Victor-Hermann Condobrey, Hohoe Municipal Chief Executive, said the party's collective interest and agenda surpassed any individual or groups' consideration. Mr Joseph Kahia, the new Hohoe-South Constituency Chairman, on behalf of the executives, thanked members for the trust reposed in them and that the trust would be guarded jealously towards the rebuilding of its structures in the constituency. He urged the members to co-operate with the executive to enable them to achieve their set goals. Other members elected were, Davis Anomah, Vice-Chairman; Godfred Agbeke as Secretary; Raymond Katsekpor, Organiser; Ernest Harris Gbate, Treasurer; Moses Yao Kumah, Propaganda Secretary; Senyo Kwame Honu, Youth Organiser and Akpene Justine as Women Organiser.
