An NDC activist has been attacked by some unknown assailants at Suhum in the Eastern Region.

The NDC activist, Sammy Baankye, also a driver; was allegedly attacked while he was sleeping in his room.

According to an eye witness account, the thugs forced into his room as he was sleeping with his wife and mother, and dragged him out to assault him.

Peace FM's Reporter, Michael Akrofi reports that the victim is currently admitted at the intensive care unit of the Suhum Government Hospital.

It is believed that the attacks were orchestrated by some activists in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Efforts to reach the Police at Suhum to either corroborate or deny the claims have proved futile.
