No Human Is Infallible; No Person Can Play God - Kabila Addresses Gov't's Plagiarism

James Kwabena Bomfeh, popularly called Kabila, has condemned the critics of the inaugural speech by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.

According to Kabila, the issue of plagiarism associated with Nana Addo's speech is a non-issue because no individual is infallible.

He said on Peace FM's 'Kokrokoo' that human beings are likely to make mistakes and so, if President Nana Addo quoted statements or phrases by some people without appropriately sourcing them, he shouldn't be hacked on the chopping board.

“It’s a non-issue but it’s our way of handling things; poor way of handling things . . . There’s nobody who can play God and we will make mistakes. Nobody is infallible. That’s why when people use words like incorruptibility to apply to a human being; I ask myself that do they even understand it? It’s an attribute of God . . . No human being is an island.”

Kabila further noted that issue of plagiarism should not be dragged, particularly when the Director of the Government's Communication team, Eugene Arhin; has apologized on behalf of President Nana Addo.

“The act of governance is a complex one. We need humility and that humility is what will make you a success or a failure. Arrogance . . . is not the way to go.”

To him, there are pressing needs that must be addressed by the government and therefore advised the government to implement his promises to Ghanaians.

“There’s the need for us to overhaul this constitution. I am glad that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo reiterated it . . . My prayer and hope is that as Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has added his voice to this, we will take the necessary steps to make our laws efficient," he stated.
