We Will Police And Fire The NPP Until Every Promise Is Fulfilled - Alhaji Dori

With eagle eyes, several members of the National Democratic Congress have pledged to monitor ways the new government intends to roll out the numerous promises they made to the Ghanaian electorate.

One man who has disclosed he would be part of the army of monitors to track the New Patriotic Party is Alhaji Ibrahim Dori.

The NDC stalwart in an interview with Peacefmonline.com noted that “the NPP administration will soon be on fire to render the unflinching services of implementing every single promise they offered the Ghanaian voter as an alternative policy that led their landslide victory in the just ended 2016 general elections”.

Ghana’s president, Nana Akufo-Addo in his campaign that won his party the elections, promised (to)

·Free Senior High School (SHS),
·One Village one dam,
·Pay teacher trainee allowance,
·Free Maternal Care,
·Reduce electricity tariffs,
·Reduce water bill,
·One district one factory,
·Pay all DKM customers,
·Reduce corporate tax to 20%,
·Create the Western North Region,
·Provide jobs to all graduates,
·Abolish some other taxes,
·Charge a flat rate of 3.5 percent from SME instead of 17.5 percent VAT,
·Pay $1m to all 275 constituencies,
·One-extension officer per 500 farmers,
·Remove import duties on raw materials and machinery for production,
·Abolish the Special Import Levy,
·Abolish the 17.5% VAT on imported medicines not produced in the country,
·Abolish the 17.5% VAT on Financial Services,
·Abolish the 5% VAT on Real Estate sales
·Abolish the 17.5% VAT on domestic airline tickets

It is on the back of these promises that Alhaji Ibrahim Dori explains that “indeed, no conditions were given on the said promises during the campaign and the only thing Ghanaians are holding onto is nothing less than full implementation of the 1 Village 1 Dam, 1 constituency 1 million dollars, 1 district 1 factory, restoration of teachers and nurses allowances, Zongo development fund, Northern development Authority just to mention a few”.

He added that the new government must implement the promises regardless of the prevailing circumstances.
Alhaji Dori said failure to do so within President Nana Akufo-Addo’s first term will incur the wrath of all of us as citizens who have been charged not to be spectators in the running of his government.
