NUGS Congratulate Minister-Designate For Youth And Sports Isaac Asiamah

The leadership of the National Union Of Ghana Students (NUGS) congratulates Hon. Isaac Asiamah for his appointment as the Minister Designate for Youth and Sports.

In a statement signed by Kwesi Frimpong, the Union’s Press and Information Secretary, expressed it’s readiness to work with him to better the lives of the youth.

“As a Union whose core membership fall within this bracket, we wish to express our readiness to work with him to better the lives of the youth”.

“We are not oblivious of the many challenges former ministers of the youth and sports ministry have faced in times past but we are hopeful that he will bring to bear his several years experience as a ranking member on youth and sports Committee to better this ministry,” the statement read.

NUGs however pleaded with him to make the ministry live up to its name ‘YOUTH AND SPORTS’.

According to NUGS, “Over the years, the “YOUTH” part of the ministry has been relegated to the background with concentration only on sports and even on sports, it has always been the Black Stars only. We hope his appointment will bring an end to this menace and give true meaning to the name of the ministry”.

“As a union, we will also plead with him to work hard to get the National Youth Authority (NYA) Board reconstituted after several years of the authority existing without a board to supervise their activities”.

The students of Ghana further wished Isaac Asiamah the Well as he prepares to face the Appointment Committee of Parliament for his vetting.
