Zain donates to the Savelugu School

Zain Communications Network, has donated large quantities of educational material to the Savelugu school for the Deaf in the Savelugu/Nanton District of the Northern Region. The items donated included readers, school bags, sign writing materials, exercise books and mathematical sets. Mr. Philip Sowah, Country Director, said donation was being made under the company's "Build our nation" programme which sought to complement government's efforts at providing the educational, cultural and other social needs of the people. He said the Company believed in role of education plays in that transformation of nations and therefore spends hundreds of dollars every year to ensure that deprived and less endowed schools were provided the necessary resources to enhance effective teaching and learning. He urged the teachers of the school to encourage the students to use the books judiciously. Mrs. Adraina Kandlige, the Savelugu/Nanton District Director of Education, said government alone could not provide the educational needs of the people and therefore commended Zain for its kind gesture and called on other organisations to help.
