NDC's Elections Review Committee Must Consult Ex-Prez Rawlings First

A soul-searching exercise has been commenced by the National Democratic Congress to investigate reasons the New Patriotic Party beat them in landslide during the 2016 general elections.

The party has formed an Election Review Committee to be chaired by Prof. Kwesi Botchwey; to review and validate reasons they may find in the course of the exercise. The 13 member committee is expected to begin their work in the Greater Accra region next week beginning with the Madina and Adenta constituencies.

Based on the committee’s itinerary, a former parliamentary candidate for Bawku Central and a leading member of the NDC, Alhaji Ibrahim Dori has called on them to have a special session with their Founder and former President Rawlings before starting their nationwide consultations.

According to Alhaji Dori it was necessary for the committee to reach out to their founder first because it would only take a person like him to help the NDC weave its way back to power.

Speaking to Peacefmonline.com, the NDC scribe noted that: “the founder of the party on several occasions reechoed the possibility of NDC loosing this elections but his outburst never received any rapt attention from leadership of the party.

Ex President J. J Rawlings, a grassroot man seems to know in details most of the fundamental mistakes, actions and inactions of the party that led to our defeat. When you listening to him on various platforms, you get the conviction that he indeed knows what he is talking about”.
