Minister Of Health Meets Ridge Hospital Workers

Mr Kwaku Agyeman Manu, the Minister of Health, has met with workers at the Ridge Hospital, who are threatening to embark on an industrial action, following allegations of mal administration against one Dr Thomas Anabato.

A petition sent to the President and the Minister read in part: “We the concerned workers of the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, Ridge, wish to draw the attention of His Excellency President Akufo-Addo and the Honourable Minister of Health about serious mal-administration of the current Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr Thomas Anaba.

“When he assumed office, the Hilux pickup used by the previous Director had been refurbished for use by the incoming Director. He refused to use that pickup and instead opted to buy a new luxurious vehicle. The new Land Cruiser Prado VXL (GE 5979-16), was purchased for his use out of the Internally Generated Fund worth GH ¢317,000.00.”

Mr Manu gave the workers the assurance that he would investigate the allegations against the Medical Director and asked the workers to go about their normal duties.
