Turkey Gov�t Gift 30 Buses To Local Gov�t Ministry

The Turkish government through its Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality has pledged to give 30 buses to the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development to enhance their daily operations.

The news was made known by the Turkish Ambassador, Nesrin Bayazit when she paid a courtesy call on Hon. Hajia Alima Mahama.

After a fruitful discussion between the two, the minister disclosed to the media that the Turkish Ambassador had briefed her about the willingness of Turkey to assist Ghana in areas that benefit the two countries.  

Hon. Hajia Alima Mahama noted that aside the buses to be distributed, the government of Turkey had also made preparation to assist staff of the Department of Parks & Gardens with technical support to enhance their performance.

Five staff from the Department of Parks & Gardens, would be flown to Turkey to study Horticulture and according to the minister, this would mark the beginning of further collaboration between the two nations to favor artisans.

On the part of the Ambassador, she noted that Turkey would continue to support Ghana in the area of governance and education.
