Nana Otuo Siriboe II Elected Chairman of the Council of State

The Omanhene of Asante Juaben, Nana Otuo Siriboe II, has been elected Chairman of the 25-member Council of State of the Seventh Council which was inaugurated on Monday, February 27, 2017.

The election was done at the Council’s maiden meeting moments after the swearing-in ceremony of the members.

Nana Siriboe II steps into the shoes of the Wulugunana Naa Professor John S. Nabila, whose tenure came to an end on January 7, 2017.

A communiqué signed Ag. Secretary to the Council, Mrs. Peace A. P. Akantey immediately after the Council’s maiden meeting said the election of the Omanhene of Asante Juaben was unanimous taking into consideration his vast experience across the years in the fields of business, governance and chieftaincy and the fact that he had previously served as a member of the Council of State for two terms from 2001-2009.

Nana Otuo Siriboe II, is a graduate of the then University of Science and Technology, Kumasi.

He graduated in 1969 with a degree in Electrical Engineering.

He was enstooled as Paramount Chief of Juaben Traditional area in 1971.

Nana  Siriboe II has served Ghana, the Ashanti Kingdom and the Juaben Stool in various capacities for over 46 years including; Member of Constituent Assembly of 1979; Member of Ghana Broadcasting Corporation Board; Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital Board; St. Louis Secondary School Board; Chairman of the KNUST Council; Member of Prisons Council; Ghana Trade Fair Authority and Director of Anglogold Ashanti.
