Security Guard Foils Thug Attack @ GITFC

An attempt by a group of thugs who were lurking around Pavilion C inside the Ghana International Trade Fair Center (GITFC) right opposite the administration block last Monday 27th February 2017 waiting to pounce on ‘whoever their target is’  was foiled by the timely intervention of one of the security guards at the main entrance.

Mr. Esenyo John, the security guard at the main entrance to the GITFC narrated to this reporter that at about 2pm last Monday he saw a yellowish Honda Estate car parked across the street near the administrative block of the trade center and looking very suspicious.

He said, after a quiet observation, he moved-in to question the intention and purpose of their being there and asked if they needed help but one of the guys got out of the car and asked him why he the security guard wants to question him… “don’t you know Nana Addo is my brother?”, he asked the security guard.

Mr. Esenyo stated that it was then that he got curious and decided to pick the number of the car but the guy accosted him and slapped him twice before he could put pen on paper and sat back in the car and sped off.

He said, for whatever reason they were lurking there is not known yet but my immediate Supervisor Francis Otoo managed to get the guys number from a by-stander who knew the guy and gave his name as Sheriff Bortei (a.k.a Bortei Disco) of Nungua.

In a separate interview with Mr. Otoo, he stated that he had called Bortei Disco the following day and he admitted to slapping the guard but he (Bortei) did it out of anger and is ready to meet with them to settle matters.

Again, Mr. Otoo indicated that the fairly old security-guard has since gone to the hospital for treatment and an official complaint lodged at the La Police station pending investigations.

Stay Tuned.
