Stop Sacking People

The former Chief Executive Officer of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, Professor Kwabena Frimpong Boateng, has bemoaned the sacking galore attitude adopted by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government. According to him, the development does not auger well for national development. He underscored the importance of the brain power of every Ghanaian to nation building, indicating that if such coordination does not embrace every government the country would perish in no time. The NDC since the assumption of power has terminated most contracts of supposed opposition personalities, who are Ghanaians, experienced in their fields of endeavour and deserved their position with the view of tarnishing their governments image in order to score political points. Professor Frimpong Boateng, the first African to do a heart transplant in 1985 and the initiator of the Cardio Thoracic Centre, stressed the uniqueness of everyone and advised Ghanaians, especially the youth, not to under estimate themselves since the power resides in them. The New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential aspirant in 2008 was giving a message of hope to students, of the Pan African Christian University at Winneba in the Central Region. He hoped the youth can create a better future if they are given the necessary help and motivation, indicating that, Africans do not use much of their brain even though they are blessed with all the goodies on earth including, gold, oil, bauxite and diamond among others, hence their miserable condition which has led them to depend on foreign sources. Prof. Frimpong Boateng however attributed the mess in Africa to the dishonesty and greed of their leaders. He therefore touched on the importance of education and hoped if the youth are educated, it would help them bring up and shape their innermost talents, which would in turn help the nation at large, emphasising that education is the bedrock of every nations development. He described himself as a person of many ideas in the sense that, Prof. Frimpong Boateng has carved an image for himself as a teacher, engineer and a doctor among other professions and hoped the youth can emulate his example. If given the chance to lead the country, Professor Frimpong Boateng hoped he can accomplish a lot by creating a haven for the country, thereby solving most of the countrys problems ranging from employment, fuel issues through to education among others. Meanwhile, Prof. Frimpong Boateng last Saturday put smiles on the faces of the people in Gomua Boduatta, especially the youth, when he sponsored the rehabilitation to a modern status, the only school park in the area which serves Boduatta and the surrounding communities. The park, which was constructed in 1958 and has since been degraded by erosion, has never seen any rehabilitation and the news came to the people as a surprise and were therefore grateful to the Prof. for the kind gesture. The Chief of Boduatta, Nana Ahonako Bonsu III, thanked Prof. Boateng for the support and hoped it would go a long way to benefit the youth in the area, especially the boys to attain higher levels in sporting activities and however urged the people to support the project with communal labour.
