Yves Martial Ekobe a Cameroonian student who allegedly inserted his finger into the vagina of a four old girl at Kwashieman has appeared before an Accra Circuit Court.
Charged with indecent assault, Ekobe pleaded not guilty.
The court presided over by Mrs. Abena Oppong Adjin-Doku commenced hearing and remanded Ekobe into Police custody to reappear on March 8.
Prosecuting Detective Inspector Kofi Atimbire said the complainant is the victim’s mother residing at Kwashieman. The complainant and accused person reside in the same house.
According to Atimbire, the complainant and the accused person are Cameroonians.
On February 25, this year, the complainant asked her elder daughter to bath the victim but in so doing the elder sister wanted to wash the victim’s vagina but she declined saying “it was paining her.”
Inspector Atimbire said the elder sister informed the complainant who examined the victim’s vagina and saw that her vagina walls look reddish.
Prosecution said when the complainant quizzed the victim she indicated that it was Ekobe who put his finger into her vagina.
The complainant lodged complaint with the Police and accused was arrested while a medical form was issued to the complainant to send the victim to the hospital for medical attention.
The complainant returned the medical form fully endorsed by a medical officer of the Ga South Municipal Hospital.
