Hearts Defeats Olympics

Accra Hearts of Oak recorded their second win in the Ghana Premier League, on Sunday, when they defeated city rivals Great Olympic 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Hearts scored first in the 25th minute, through a quick connection by Paul Acquah, but Olympics equalized before the close of the first half, through Benjamin Arthur in the 41st minute.

Both sides engaged in series of exchanges in the second half, to overcome each other, but they failed to utilize chances that came their way.

Hearts, however managed to grab the much needed winner in the 73rd minute through Inusah Musah.

This was through a free-kick, well delivered by Fatawu Mohamed, which Olympic goalkeeper was unable to grab at first time and created a melee for Musah to squeeze into the net for the winner.

Great Olympics player-coach Godwin Attram, decided to join his charges in the last 10 minutes of the game, but his influence was minimal as they failed to grab the equalizer.

Olympics are stacked to the bottom of the table with two points, whilst Hearts are now placed at sixth position with nine points.
