Anglican Bishop Inaugurates Classroom Block

The Right Reverend Dr Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Anglican Bishop of Kumasi, has inaugurated a four classroom block built at the cost of 12,000, for the Saint Anne's primary school in Kumasi. Some public spirited students in the United Kingdom (UK) provided the funding. They responded to an appeal made on behalf of the school by Mrs Kay Ansell, a teacher, whose husband the Rev Father Stuart Ansell of England, UK, came on a visit. Rt Rev Dr Sarfo noted that the structure provides serene atmosphere for teaching and learning. He praised the Ansell family for the support and said it was his prayer that God would immensely bless them and all those who contributed in diverse ways towards the completion of the block. Mrs Ansell said they were touched by the overcrowding in the classrooms and took the decision to do all they could to assist change the situation. She said they were happy that they have been able to make a difference and the children now have bigger and well ventilated classrooms. Mr David Asokwa-Akowuah, Deputy Regional Manager of Anglican Schools urged the school authorities to take good care of the structure. He said he was confident the Ansell family would continue to maintain strong bond of co-operation and support for the Church in Ghana.
