"It's only the unforeseen hand of God that averted what otherwise would have been a Black Sunday in the annals of the Ghana Football" - Mr. Felix Ograh described the incident that happened at the Nduom Sports Stadium last Sunday.

Briefing the media on Tuesday, April 11, the General Manager of Yorke Properties, Mr. Felix Ograh noted that Group Nduom has taken full responsibility for the incident and would continue the development of the stadium to become one of the best in the country.

Last week Sunday, Elmina Sharks FC played it's eleventh week Ghana Premier league at home against WAFA FC at the Nduom sport Stadium in Elmina.

At about the 90th minute of the game, a strong wind blew over the stadium, accompanied by heavy rains and amidst thunderstorms which eventually ripped the roofing of the stadium.

Though there were no casualties, the ripped roof damaged the Ghana Broadcasting cooperation (GBC) vehicle and also landed on Redeamer Preparatory school located close to the stadium.

Addressing the issue, Mr. Ograh stated that "In such a circumstance like this, it's only the unforeseen hand of God that averted what otherwise would have been a Black Sunday in the annals of Ghana football. Indeed we thank God for the show of compassion and mercy on everyone who went to our Stadium that fateful Sunday."

He disclosed that the technical team with engineer and the sub - contractors who did the roofing had visited the site to assess the impact and plans are ahead to renovate the stadium in the next 3 to 4 weeks.

"We wish to invite the League Board to come and inspect our facilities, our playing field, the Spectator seating area, the practice field and the rest room are all intact and are ready to be used," Mr. Ograh added.
