“My Players Are Mentally Tough” – Aduana Coach

Head coach of Aduana Stars, Yusif Abubakar, has attributed his success against Berekum Chelsea, to mental toughness.

Aduana defeated Berekum Chelsea by a lone goal in the 14th week Ghana Premier League (GPL).

He said his side was able to control lots of pressure and counter fast breaks scenarios, mounted by rivals in the match played at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Stadium in Dormaa-Ahenkro.

Speaking in a post match interview, he said they had planned to match their rival boot for boot having learnt that they were capable of running so fast and pulling surprises with fast breaks, a characteristic of Chelsea to outsmart Aduana defenders.

“Chelsea is noted for bringing up young players who can really run and so we plan to take care of each of the players not restricting attention on just one player. Tactically both teams did well”, he admitted.

The game produced a lone goal victory in favour of Aduana Stars, scored by Tanko Mohammed in the 15th minute.

Both teams squandered numerous chances, which came their way in each half of the game.

But Coach Abubakar indicated that he will work to improve upon the goal scoring ability of his team adding that “missing scoring opportunities is part of football, but such moments helped the team to identify its mistakes correct them”.

He said, he was generally pleased with the performance of his players.
