Ghana Air Force donates to Osu Children's Home

The Ghana Air Force on Tuesday donated items worth GH� 5,000.00 to the Osu Children's Home as part of activities marking its 50th anniversary celebrations. Wing Commander George Arko-Dadzie, Officer Commanding Trade Training School, said as part of the social responsibility of the Ghana Air Force it spreads its net wide to touch the hearts of the needy. The items donated included a refrigerator, two microwave ovens, rice, fish, chicken, baby food and drugs. He said as part of their activities similar programmes were carried out in Tamale and Takoradi where items were donated to orphanages. Wg. Cdr Arko-Dadzie said these activities should tell the public that the Air Force reached out to the civilians in civil-military cooperation. The Manageress of Osu Children's Home, Ms. Sharan Abbey, thanked the Ghana Air Force for the donation. Ms. Abbey said currently there were about 250 children whose ages ranged from a day-old to 23 years at the Home. Some of them are in the university, senior and junior high schools. Ms Abbey called on individuals to visit the Home and sponsor children to higher levels of education.
