Goaso Chief Sets Wee Ghettos Ablaze!

In his bid to curb the surge in the trade and usage of Marijuana (Wee) in his community, the paramount chief of Goaso in the Brong Ahafo Region, Nana Baffour Akwasi Bosompra II, has set ablaze ghettos in his area and warned the youth to desist from smoking the hazardous substance.

According to the Omanhene, the town has in recent times witnessed an upsurge in the Wee trade, which, to him, would not bring any meaningful development to the lives of the youth and that of the traditional council he presides.

“The youth in my area have formed several wee camps where they hatch all manner of evil plots so if as a chief I do not react by forcing them to stop, my leadership cannot be complete,” Nana Baffour Akwasi Bosompra II said.

In an interview with the New Crusading GUIDE on what motivated him to set the ghettos on fire, Baffour Akwasi Bosompra II revealed that, since the fight could not be left on the shoulders of the police alone, he as the traditional ruler and the paramount chief of Goaso cannot fold his arms and look on for the youth in his community to suffer in future.

He explained that though the police are putting in much efforts by arresting those involved in smoking of wee and those selling it as well, he had observed that when they were arrested, you will see them roaming on the streets to continue what they had been arrested for and “as a chief, I cannot let things continue the way they are going on so that is why me and my people moved to the various sites and burnt their hideout”.

He continued that “I have received several complaints of pick-pocketing, robbery and thievery from strangers and some indigenes of Goaso which should not be entertained and as a matter of fact, it is my responsibility as the paramount chief to wage war on those criminals in my town. I promised my people to lead them into the Promised Land as the paramount chief and I cannot sit down aloof and allow my youth to enter into drug trade”

He therefore challenged other chiefs of various communities to ensure they took the growth of the youth at heart in other that together; Ghana will get great personalities in the future.
