Police Officers Must Eschew Laziness - DCOP Pinkro

The Greater Accra Police Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Nana Osabarimah Asare Pinkro III, has called on the Police to eschew laziness in carrying out their duties.

He said it is heartbreaking to find some members of the police using earphones and other gadgets during time of patrols.

According to him, the usage of earphones and browsing on social media only distract the police from doing what is expected of them.

“Earpieces and some of these gadgets are not part of our working gears, and they must put a stop to it,” he stressed.

The Regional Commander raised these concerns in an interview with The Finder on the sidelines during the annual-get-together named West Africa Security Services Association ‘2016 WASSA’ for the Accra Central Divisional Police Personnel.

He said the Police have a mandate to protect citizens, and the public should see to it that the police are performing a duty to their satisfaction.
He further advised them to work hard, as hard work does not break bones.

On his part, Chief Superintendent of Police Divisional Commander of the Accra Central Division, Baba Saanid Adamu, assured that the his division would continue to ensure peace and order in the Greater Accra region.
Baba Adamu called on the public to furnish the police with any vital information that could enhance their work.

Six Police Officers, who excelled in their duties during the period under review, were awarded certificates of honour.
