Sports Minister Demands Maintenance Manual From Managers Of State Facilities

Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Isaac Kwame Asiamah has asked for a maintenance manual from all the managers of national sporting facilities and infrastructure.

Mr Asiamah said such a manual would serve as a guideline in the maintenance of national properties.

The Minister made this known, when he paid a familiarization visit to the National Sports Center at Winneba.

He the maintenance manual, which would be a comprehensive document, would explain what should be done in terms of maintenance and at what time.

“This will be a routine maintenance document that will cover every facility of the various stadia…it gives a period of maintenance works and information on what to do and at what particular time”.

Mr Asiamah said in all his visits to sporting facilities, he has not seen any maintenance manual so far, and requested that such manuals are made available to help facilitate maintenances and renovations.

“Every sporting facility must produce a maintenance manual as a matter of urgency and necessity…this will help us to strictly comply with the maintenance regime contained in the manual.

“The lack of regular maintenance is costing the state millions of cedis and we must all help to save the state money by regularly maintaining our facilities rather than living them for years” he added.
