NGO enrols 37 needy Wa children in school

International Movement of Catholic Students (IMCS-Pax Romana) of the Wa Campus of the University for Development Studies, has assisted 37 needy children to enrol in kindergarten and primary schools in the Wa Municipality this academic year. The children were provided with school uniform and bags with funds from the Netherlands' Opportunity Education Fund at a cost of GH890. Mr Atayaaba Justus Triumph, President of IMCS-Pax Ramana, said the movement was dedicated to assisting the poor and would under its education project, assist more needy children in the municipality. Mr Triumph said Pax Romana would expands its operations to other districts in the region depending on the availability of funds but would for the mean time work hard to retain the 37 children to at least complete their basic education. "It is our wish to strengthen our monitoring and evaluation roles to ensure that the children are retained in school", he said and called on other organisations and individuals to support the project. Mr Triumph said poverty needs a holistic approach.
