Lotto Agent Shot Dead At New York

A 31-year-old lotto agent has been shot dead at New York in Zenu in the Kpone-Katamanso District of the Greater Accra Region.

The deceased, Lawer Asigbe, was reportedly shot in the stomach in his office by suspected armed robbers, who made away with an unspecified amount of money and personnel effects.

He was pronounced dead on arrival by medics at the Tema General Hospital.

His corpse has been deposited at the morgue of the aforementioned health.

It would be later transferred to the Police Hospital morgue in Accra for autopsy.

An eyewitness narrated to DAILY GUIDE that the incident occurred at about 8:00pm last Tuesday, May 27, 2016 when the deceased conveyed some monies to the office to meet some of his colleagues.

“The armed robbers broke into the office after shooting the locker to get into the office. They pointed guns on us and asked us to surrender our monies and properties,” he stated.

According to him, the armed robbers took monies and mobile phones before shooting the deceased, who later died at the hospital.

Police in Ashaiman have confirmed the incident, saying that investigations have been launched into the incident.

The police are therefore appealing to the general public to provide information that would lead to the arrest of the perpetrators of the criminal act.
