Yendi Municipality Records 34 Absentees In BECE

In the Yendi Municipality two thousand one hundred and ninety –Seven candidates comprising, 1,186 boys and, 1,011 girls from 35 Junior High Schools in the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region are writing the Basic Education certificate Examinations.

All of them are writing in seven centres at Yendi Senior High School A&B, Yendi Primary Centre , Dagban state Centres A and B , and 7As College of Science and Technology.

Out of the 2,197 candidates, 34 were absent comprising 22 boys and 12 girls from Yendi Girls School, Kulikpeni E.P Junior High School, Islamic Number two Junior High School, Islamic Number One Junior High School and Fah-Liyatul Islamic Junior High School

There are seven Supervisors and their Assistants, 73 Iinvigilators and nine Police Personnel.

The Headmasters from the schools the candidates were absent were not present to give the reasons why the candidates were absent

Alhaji Hamed Abubakar Yussuf, the Yendi Municipal Chief Executive who addressed the Candidates, before the start of the exams advised them against taking foreign materials into any of the examination halls.

He warned the Teachers who were assigned to invigilate to desist from involving in examination malpractices and advised candidates to read over their question papers carefully to understand before attempting to answer the questions.

Alhai Yussuf advised them to abide by all instructions of the West African Examination Council.

Mr Nelson Aborigia, Yendi Municipal Director of Education warned the Teachers not invigilating to stay away from the Centres.

Mr Godwin Selomey of West African Examination Council indicated that so far the examination centres were conducive.
