Government Warns Troublemakers In Bole Chieftaincy Feud As Tension Looms

The Northern Regional Minister and Chairman of the Regional Security Committee (REGSEC) , Mr Salifu Saeed has warned that his outfit will not allow any individual or group of people to take the peace of the Bole Traditional Area to ransom.

Speaking at the third day funeral of the late Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area, Bolewura Awuladese Pontonpron, at Bole he said, “We would not want anybody to do anything to cause mayhem in this area. We are monitoring and tracking the activities of people around this area”.

The Minister who received a loud applause for being blunt also urged the the Yagbonwura who is King and Overlord of Gonja and the Kingmakers of the Bole Traditional Area to ensure the succession to the Bole Chieftaincy is done peacefully because the late Bolewura was a peaceful man.

Mr Salifu Saeed who was accompanied by the District Chief Executives for Bole, Sawla-Tuna-Kabla, Central Gonja and Regional Executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) donated five bags of maize, five bags of sugar and an amount of GH¢5,000 Ghana cedis on behalf of the NPP government.

Meanwhile there is heavy security presence in Bole comprising well armed soldiers and police stationed at strategic areas of the town to forestall any disturbances over succession to the late Bolewura.

There are two rival Chiefs who are aspiring to become Chief of Mandari who succeeds the Bolewura

One according to reports is recognised by the Yagbonwura second one recognized by the late Bolewura.
