A sad spectacle unfolded today at the burial service for Major Maxwell Adam Mahama when his father, Captain (rtd) Dennis Mahama took his turn to pay tribute to the slain soldier.

 Moments after he started reading the tribute, a grief-stricken Captain (rtd) Mahama broke down in tears and choked on his tears.

He left for one of the two men flanking him to complete the tribute and was seen crying profusely while the other man standing by consoled him.

The mortal remains of Major Mahama, brutally killed by some residents of Denkyira Obuasi who allegedly mistook him for an armed robber, will be taken to the Military Cemetry at Osu after the burial service which is currently underway at the forecourt of the State House.
