Confusion Rocks Concerned Teachers Association ...Over Visa Fraud

There is a reported high level of confusion within the Coalition of Concern Teachers, after the executives of the association connived to secure a Swiss Visa for a non-executive member of the association without the knowledge of the newly elected executives.

The Teachers association has been accused by its own members of using the association for Visa Racketeering, an act the defeats the principle and objectives of its formation.

Information intercepted  indicates that the president of the Association, King Ali Awudu  in collaboration with the General Secretary, Herbert Ako Forson   introduced one Mark, Mark Ansah  as the Ashanti Regional secretary of the Coalition of Concern Teachers  to the Embassy of Switzerland in Ghana and wrote a formal Letter to the Embassy requesting it to grant him a Swiss visa to participate in this year’s 106th Session of the International Labour conference of the International Labour Organization.(ILO) in Geneva Switzerland rom  the 12 to 16 June 2017,   when  Mark Ansah isn’t the general secretary..

Sources indicated that, King Ali and Ako Forson managed to convince the Embassy to grant Mark Ansah the Visa to travel to Switzerland with the President King Ali Awudu with the contribution of members of the Coalition. This was done without the knowledge of Steve Donkor the genuinely elected Ashanti Regional Secretary of the Coalition.

Steve Donkor in an interview expressed shock at the behavior of the President of the Coalition who is presently having fun with Mark Ansah in Switzerland with the contributions of Coalition members. Steve Donkor described Mark Ansah as an imposter and a fraudster who is taking advantage of the division in the coalition to enrich himself.

He has thus advised King Ali Awudu to resign from the coalition or be sacked for engaging in illegalities. He also called on members of the Coalition to call for an emergency congress to order the president of the coalition to account for his trip to Switzerland. “It is now obvious that the president of the coalition that engaged in fraudulent acts with some of the members of the coalition. This is a criminal act and he has to resign. As we speak, he is in Switzerland having fun with the contributions of members. This is bad and he must resign”, he stated.

The Letter Dated, 15, May 2017, with reference number CCT-GH/HQ/VISA/15/5/17, with the Title “LETTER OF INTRODUCTION –MR. MARK ANSAH: PARTICIPATION IN THE 106TH SESSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANIZATION (ILO) GENEVA SWITZERLAND FROM 5TH -16TH JUNE 2017.

The letter reads “we will like to introduce to you Mr Mark Ansah, the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the coalition of concerned Teachers, Ghana.

Mr Ansah will participate in the 106th session of the international Labour Conference of the international Labour Organization (ILO), Geneva Switzerland from 5th -16th June 2017 as part of the workers delegation from Ghana. We would be grateful if you could issue him the relevant visa to enable him participate in the conference. For further information, please contact the General Secretary and the Union Mr Ako Forson Herbert on [email protected]. We are counting on your cooperation. Yours Faithfully, Coalition of Concerned Teachers.

When asked why he wrote the letter knowing that Mark Ansah isn’t the Ashanti regional Secretary, he said it was a mistake and begged that the story should not be published since it would have a negative effect on his image. He said that at the time the Trades Union Congress requested them to submit the names of their members Mark Ansah was the general secretary but was voted out few weeks after but his name had already been submitted.

When asked why he did not inform the genuinely elected general secretary of the coalition, he said it was a mistake and that he is sorry. Meanwhile, the former president of the Coalition of concerned Teachers, Ernest Opoku has said he is filing a petition to the government of Switzerland to question the Swiss Ambassador in Ghana on how he issued a visa to a non-executive of the coalition without proper investigations. Stay tuned for more information.
