The Principal of the Saint Louis Training College Education, Mrs. Mary Anane Druyeh, has warned students against examination malpractices, saying the College would never countenance that.
She said the school authorities would not be lax in their invigilation.
Mrs Druyeh was speaking at the fourth matriculation ceremony for 280 students admitted to pursue a three-year diploma programme.
"Developing the Appropriate Study Techniques for Academic and Professional Excellence" was the theme.
She said what they wanted was the best of performances from conscientious students, adding that, cutting corners was simply not the way to go.
"Learning over time is better than learning at the last minute and that only poor students use strategies such as learning off by heart."
She also drew attention to the need for them to maintain the highest standard of discipline, telling them that "we are not going to deviate from our focus and mission of making every single student who passes through our walls a true ambassador of Christ and the Church."
Mr V.A. Ankamah-Lomotey, acting Deputy Registrar of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), said as the main deliverer at the basic education level, the teacher should be the point of focus of all policies geared towards an improvement at that level.
He appealed to teachers to accept responsibility for the progress of their students.
