Former Supervising Chief Editor laid to rest

Burial took place at the Osu Cemetery on Friday of Mr. Kenneth Bret Wood, former Supervising Chief Editor of the Ghana News Agency (GNA). This was after a burial service at the Anglican Cathedral Church of the Most Holy Trinity at High Street, Accra. Tributes were paid in his honour by the Management of GNA, Retired and Past Staff Association of GNA, Ghana Journalists Association, friends, widow and children. They all described him as affable, a gentleman who always struck anyone with a smile and extended courtesies to all. Mr. Wood joined the GNA in March, 1961 as a Junior Reporter and rose through the ranks to become Supervising Chief Editor. He retired in February, 2000. He was also the GJA Elections Officer for a long time. Mr. Wood, 71, passed away in a London Hospital on October 20. He left behind a wife, Abigail and three children, Dilys, Kenneth Junior, and Pearl.
