Victor Smith is a coward on the touchline - Koku Anyidoho

Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Koku Anyidoho has described Ghana’s former High Ambassador to the United Kingdom (UK), Mr Victor Smith as a coward who only takes delight in operating from the touchlines.

“If he is a man enough he should also bring a petition against Rawlings and stop being a coward on the touchlines. He has worked with Rawlings before and what prevents him from petitioning against him”, he rebutted on Okay Fm.

“If he is a man with enough courage and brevity he should go ahead. If he is a man enough he should go into the ring fight and stop indicting national executives on the touchlines. If he is a man I am challenging him to petition against the former President and we will look into it. He is not an executive member of the party…..he should stop disturbing our ears”, he said.

According to him, he has said so many things about the national executives but they have chosen to ignore him advising to focus on making his plans straight to contest his election and leave the party leaders to do their work.

Victor Smith is reported to have said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) must be even handed in trying to maintain discipline in the party suggesting that it will be unfair to summon former Attorney General, Martin Amidu before its Disciplinary Committee and leave out ex-President Jerry John Rawlings, as many believe the utterances of these two stalwarts cause the NDC a lot of problems.

Two members of the NDC, Evans Amankwaa and Abigail Mensah, have petitioned the party hierarchy to take disciplinary action against Mr Amidu citing his endless epistles and public utterances that bring the NDC into disrepute. Quoting Article 47 of the party’s constitution, the two are convinced, the conduct of Martin Amidu is in breach of the party’s constitution.

But Anyidoho disclosed that the issue of Martin Amidu is based on a petition adding “if he feels he is a man and wants Mr Rawlings sanctioned, he should bring a petition and we will also look into it and stop being a coward”
