Assembly promises to implement projects

The Wa Municipal Assembly is to implement a number of development projects on the Wa campus of the University for Development Studies as its contribution towards giving the institution a facelift. The projects would involve the construction and tarring of roads within its permanent site at Bamahu and also provide street lights at all the major roads in the University. Mr Duogu Yakubu, the Municipal Chief Executive said this at the inauguration of new executives of the UDS Wa campus branch of the Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of the National Democratic Congress at Wa. He commended the members of the organization for their unwavering support for the NDC, saying it was through their vigilance at the various polling stations across the country during the last elections that enabled the party to recapture power. Mr Kale Caesar, the Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, urged Ghanaians to have confidence in the Atta Mills administration as plans were under way to make conditions of living better for all citizens. He said President Atta Mills had confidence in the youth of the country and would do all he could to ensure that their welfare was enhanced through the various youth empowerment programmes that were being rolled out. Mr Caesar charged the new TEIN executives to be diligent in their duties and to project the good image of the NDC at all times.
