Winnesec celebrates 60th Anniversary

As part of activities marking the 60th Anniversary of the Winneba Senior High School, the staff with past and current students, went on a three-Kilometre health-walk in the Winneba Municipality. The walk, which started from the school's campus, amidst brass band music, took participants through the principal streets of the town and back to the school. Addressing the participants after the walk, Mr Eugene Sai Johnson, Chairman of the Old Students Association, urged them to exercise their bodies regularly to enable them to stay healthy. He advised the students to take their studies very seriously in order to achieve academic excellence. Mrs Cecilia Coffie, Headmistress of the School, expressed her appreciation to the old students for participating in the celebration and said the last Saturday of every month would be reserved for health improving activities, including walks. Other activities for the celebration are Clean-Up exercises, Debates, Table Tennis and Football Competitions. The Anniversary is under the theme, "Quality Education: A Tool for National Development." A speech and Prize Giving ceremony would climax the celebration on Saturday, November 28.
