Kpando Heart of Lions yesterday showed their supremacy over Kumasi Asante Kotoko by defeating the Porcupine Warriors 1-0 at the Kpando Sports Stadium in a grueling seventh week GLO Premier League fixture. It was the fifth time in succession that the Porcupine Warriors had fallen prey to the Lions and the demeanor of the head coach of Kotoko after the match was enough proof that Lions have become the nemesis of the red army from Kumasi. Mohammed Tanko scored the solitary goal of the match as early as the eleventh minute of the game when left winger Daniel Aquaye sent a perfect cross finding the head of Tanko who placed the ball beyond the reach of Kotoko�s goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye. The match was hotly contested as Kotoko were incessant in putting pressure on Heart of Lions but try as they did, that equalizer never came with Kabiru Imoro missing the most glorious chance of the afternoon in the game. What made the task worse for Kotoko was the red card shown to substitute Samad Oppong for retaliation. The match ended with most visiting supporters of Kotoko disenchanted by what they term as poor officiating by referee Daniel Offei from Tema. The CEO of Heart of Lions, Desmond Frimpong Manso (a.k.a Cocroach), who earlier in an interview with PEACEFM Sports predicted a win for his team, stated that the win was only a confirmation of their superiority over Kotoko and Hearts of Oak in Ghana football. �I have proved to Paa Kwasi Fabin that Lions is as strong as ever even without him and check the records, no team has beaten Kotoko five times in a row before in Ghana football, Lions just did it� he declared. In a chat with Kotoko�s coach, Paa Kwasi Fabin, he took the defeat in good faith but was dissatisfied with his strikers� performance as they missed so many glorious opportunities in the game. Lions still maintains the fourth position on the league table with thirteen points while Kotoko drop to tenth with nine points after seven matches.
