Robbers Kill Nurse At Sawla

Daily Guide has gathered that Anthony K. Fouliber, a nurse at Sawla Polyclinic, was killed by armed robbers when a mini bus he was travelling on from Tamale to Sawla was attacked.

Upon reaching Grupei in the Damango District, some armed men stopped the vehicle, forced passengers into the bush and robbed them of their monies and other personal belongings.

In the process, one of the armed robbers shot Mr Fouliber, a nurse at Sawla Polyclinic.

He was rushed to Sawla Polyclinic for treatment but died upon arrival.

The body has since been deposited at Bole District hospital morgue.

The Northern Regional Police Public Relations Officer (PRO) ASP Mohammed Yussif Tanko, who confirmed the incident to DAILY GUIDE, said at about 11:30pm, the Sawla Police Command received a distress call from one Halitu Amadu, a driver in charge of the Ssangyong mini bus with registration number AS 689-17 that his car had been hijacked by some suspected armed robbers on the Tamale- Sawla Road at about 10:00pm.

ASP Mohammed Yussif Tanko, however, indicated that no arrests have been made.

He indicated that the Damango District Police Command had launched investigations into the case and appealed to people to volunteer information to help apprehend the suspects.
