About 10 persons have been confirmed dead while several others sustained high degree injuries in a fatal accident at Nkawkaw -by pass, on the Accra -Kumasi highway in the Eastern region.
The incident occurred in the early hours of October 1,2017 around 1:30am.
The accident involved a Yutong bus from Kumasi with registration number, GM2212-16 and an Articulator truck.
The bus with 54 passengers on board collided with the truck after taking over it's lane at the bypass.
Meanwhile, information gathered by the news team hinted that, the bus driver, Emmanuel Adofo, ignored his lane and was using the other lane which was supposed to be used by vehicles coming from Accra only and not those from Kumasi.
The bodies has hence been conveyed to the Nkawkaw Holy-Family Hospital morgue for autopsy while the injured are receiving treatment at the same facility.
The bus driver on the other hand is in the custody of the Nkawkaw Divisional Police command assisting in further investigations.
