Kodie Police Hunt For Suspect Ritual Murderers

Police at Kodie in Asante, have intensified a search for a syndicate said to be killing females for some ritual purposes.

The second murder incident within three days, have sent chills down the spines of the Kodie community members such that the youth, mostly females, are said to have decided to go to bed very early.

The suspects are said to have cut off the breasts of their victims, and after draining the blood, put the body in sacks, popularly called “efie wura soa me”, and dumped them.

The police have described the syndicate as very meticulous, the manner they cut off the breast, stressing “it appears they have done the work for a long time.”

Speaking to the Ghanaian Times, on phone the Kodie District Police Commander, Assistant Superintendent of Police (SP) Stephen Ofori Akrasi, said it was the second time, within three days, that a sack containing a female body had been dumped, at the same spot, called Sofo Kwadwo, in Kodie.

“There was no blood stain in the sack or on the body, but the head had been tied with a rope to the feet and the hands also tied to the back…suggesting that they killed them somewhere and put them in the sack and dump it,” ASP Akrasi indicated.

He described the latest victim as fair in complexion, with a good height…tall, and wearing artificial finger and toe nails.

“As we started with investigations to unravel the mystery behind a female body in a sack…here we are confronted with a similar issue just within three days.

ASP Akrasi was optimistic that the police search for the syndicate would soon yield fruits and urged the public to be vigilant and feed the police with information about any suspicious characters.
