Two People have been rushed to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Centre following an attack on them by suspected land guards who operate in the Gomoa Fetteh area in the Central Region.

The two, identified as Kwesi Alhaji, 32, and Abdul Rahim, 31, were sent by the chief of the town to show a buyer a plot of land in the town when the attackers, wielding AK 47 rifles, unleashed bullets on them.

Three other persons who were with the wounded are missing with the police having mounted a search for them.

The attackers, according to the police, ambushed them and shot at them. Meanwhile, the police at Kasoa have arrested three suspects who the police say they believe were the brains behind the said attacks.

The three, according to the police commander, were mentioned by one of the victims as the ones who perpetrated the crime against them on the said parcel of land.

The names of the three have been withheld by the police because of investigations. They will, however, be put before court soon.

The Kasoa Police Commander, ACP Dennis Abade, in an interview, indicated that land guard activities and subsequent attacks were rampant and though a challenge to the police, they would put in the necessary effort to contain the situation.

The suspects, he said, wielded sophisticated weapons, which makes it difficult to easily contain them.

Meanwhile, the chief of Fetteh, Nana Ekow Kakraba Kodemawu, has urged the police to double their efforts in ending activities of land guards in the area.

The people, he added, might be forced to take the law into their own hands if the land guards were not stopped.
