Bishops Boy Arrested Over Juju

The Suame Divisional Police Command has placed in its custody one of the three junior pastors of International Gods Way Church that were mentioned as key architects of the juju saga that has embroiled Bishop Daniel Obinim and one Pastor Frank Annor. Bishop Obinim was said to have hired some boys to plant juju at the premises of his rival pastor, Opambuor Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom. The police said they were not investigating the juju saga but rather, an assault case reported by Frank Annor who was said to have been beaten by unknown assailants. For purposes of police investigation, DSP Kwaku Duah, the Suame Divisional Crime Officer, refused to disclose to Daily Guide the exact person that was detained. However, sources said a certain Charles Abankwah was the person detained by the police after interrogations. DSP Duah said after thorough interrogations, the police realized that it would be prudent to keep one of the three suspects, namely Charles Abankwah, Victor wand Willie to assist them in investigations. Though the three categorically denied ever knowing Pastor Annor in the presence of police officers on Monday, DSP Duah maintained that keeping one of the suspects would expedite police investigation. DSP Duah however stated that the other two suspects were granted police enquiry bail after being interrogated with regard to their involvement in the alleged juju plotting saga. The Police, it would be recalled, ordered Bishop Obinim to produce the aforementioned persons, believed to be his junior pastors, for interrogation latest by Monday. This was after Bishop Obinim had stormed the Suame Police station on Saturday afternoon to respond to a series of allegations leveled against him by Pastor Annor of Faith Power Ministry at Konongo. Among the allegations made by Pastor Annor was that he (Obinim) hired him to bury some ritual items which included suspected human bones, black cobra and four red candles at the premises of Rev Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadoms church at Ahenema Kokoben. Pastor Annor alleged that Bishop Obinim contracted him to carry out the plot with the motive of creating an impression that Rev Ebenezer uses juju in his pastoral activities. Meanwhile, drama unfolded at the police station when TV Africa camera man Osei Kwaku Jnr. Attempted to take footages of the two suspects, who were moving out of the police station after being granted bail. Not wanting their faces to be captured on camera, the two suspects engaged the camera man in a brawl, but the intervention of a reporter of the TV station, Philemon Amoaning, saved what could have been an ugly scene. As expected, a huge crowd of curious spectators stormed the police station in anticipation of witnessing a repeat of the infamous cursing saga by Pastor Annor against Bishop Obinim. Pastor Annor caused a stir last Saturday when he invoked the spirit of the Antoa Nyamaa deity and other river gods to strike dead Bishop Obinim when he (Obinim) denied knowing him.
