A scorned wife has been jailed for five years for pouring boiling water over her Royal Marine husband's mistress after finding her in the marital home.

Monika Fourie, 34, of Plymouth, Devon, sobbed uncontrollably as she was led away today with her estranged husband looking on.

She was convicted of grievous bodily harm with intent after a trial last month and released on bail before sentencing to make arrangements to look after her eight year-old daughter.
