Parliamentary Centre donates to Parliament

The Parliamentary Centre, a Canadian Non- Governmental Organization, on Wednesday donated six table top computers and their accessories valued at twenty-eight thousand dollars ($28,000) to the Information Technology (IT) Department of Parliament. The Computers would among others, augment those in the centre and replace those which had broken down over the years. Presenting them at a short ceremony, Dr. Rasheed Draman, Director of Parliamentary Centre, Africa Region, said the donation was to further forge the good relationship that existed between his outfit and Ghana's Parliament over the past 16 years. He said the Parliamentary Centre which was mostly financed by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) would continue to support Parliament to entrench democracy and development in the country. Mr. David Addow-Quarshie, Director of the Parliamentary IT centre, said the donation would help them expedite action on the activities of Parliament. He gave the assurance that they would be used to achieve the purpose for which they were donated and appealed to others to follow the example of Parliamentary Centre.
