Uche Jombo Storms Silverbird Cinema

Award Winning Nollywoow actress Uche Jombo is expected in Accra this weekend as she storms Ghana to attend the Silent Scandal premiere at the Silverbird Cinema on Friday, December 4. Besides Uche, the movie features another big Nollywood name, one-time screen bad girl Genevieve Nnaji and Ghanas own Majid Michel. Although other Nigerian cast mates are expected, it is not yet clear who else will make an appearance besides Uche. All year round Ghana has been a haven for a number of Nollywood stars including Desmond Elliot, Emeka Ike, Jim Iyke, Stephanie Okereke, Ramsey Nouah, Nse Ikpe, Tonto Dike and Chika Ike, whose presence received media attention as they went about their business. Ms. Jombo, BEATWAVES gathered, will arrive on Friday morning, in preparation for the premiere in the evening. The premiere is anticipated to be a celebrity-studded affair as gurus of Ghanas movie industry will be making appearances. Silent Scandal, a provocative flick, is a story of sheer passion, pretence, disillusionment and betrayal. The story focuses on Jessica (Genevieve Nnaji), an accomplished career woman and single mother, who finds herself engrossed in an empty and lifeless world with the challenge of bringing up her only daughter, Ella (Chelsea Eze). Ellas life is full of youthful exuberance around her distraught boyfriend Neto (Majid), and is conflicting with her mothers approach to raising her, putting them in constant disagreement with each other. After years of separation through no fault of theirs, Ella and Neto are reunited and cant help but rekindle their love. After a while, the two decide to get married. Though Jessicas love for Ella is undeniable, with the obvious desire to make her only daughter content by giving her all she desires, she finds herself falling deeply in love with her personal driver Neto (Majid), who incidentally happens to be her daughters ex-boyfriend. What transpires after will keep movie enthusiasts transfixed.
