The Director of Public Affairs at the Ghana Police Service, DSP Kwesi Ofori, says the police are ready to monitor the use of smuggled fire crackers or knock-outs in the country as the Christmas season approaches. Speaking to Kwami Sefa-Kayi on Peace Fm�s �Kokrokoo�, he disclosed that the use of smuggled firecrackers or knock-outs is on the ascendancy, which is not in conformity with the laws of the country. "The laws of the country are clear on the types of knock-outs that are to be imported into the country but they are not being heeded to, and this is a worry to the police service," he said. He however, said the police have put in place measures to curtail this problem of smuggling illegal knock-outs into the country. "Not only that, measures are also being taken for the combating of crime as well during this festive (Christmas) period," he pledged. "Already, one can see that police patrol, are in force working day and night and combating crime," he added.
