2 Burglaries Busted At Agbogbloshie

The Police have apprehended two persons suspected to be behind break-ins in Accra and some parts of the Central and Western Regions.

The suspects, who work with other criminals, were arrested at their hideout at Agbogbloshie in Accra.

They are Prince Opoku aka Agyenkwa Rasta and Godwin Ameka aka Kobi.

They are believed to be behind some burglaries that took place at Nungua, Dansoman, Baatsona, Russia, Spintex, Winneba and Tarkwa .

Police indicated that the two suspects formed a gang at Old Fadama, Accra where they met to plan their nefarious activities.

The two suspects were apprehended on Friday, November 10, 2017 by the Winneba Police upon a tip-off and handed over to the Dansoman Police to help investigate another case.

At Winneba Police Station, Godwin Ameka reportedly confessed that their ringleader is Kofi Agyenkwa while one Farouk leads their operations in Winneba, but failed to lead the police to apprehend the said Farouk.

The two confessed that they operate in the day. They first send a member of the gang to the victim’s house to check if there is somebody at home. The messenger only signals his colleagues to come over if there is nobody in the house to steal, the Police stated.

Winneba Police have confirmed that the suspects stole a plasma television set, an unspecified amount of dollars and three laptops from a house at Winneba.

They also snatched the bag of a woman containing GHC2,700 from a woman on same day at Kasoa.

The suspects, upon their arrest, claimed they share the booty equally after successful operations.

The Dansoman Police are still holding the suspects to assist in investigations.
