Deputy Trade Minister Hints Of Measures To Revamp Trade Fair Centre

The 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair has been launched in Accra. The event themed Industrialising Ghana and Creating Jobs was graced by the Honourable Deputy Minister of trade and Industry, Carlos Kingsley Ahenkorah, the La Chief and Honourable Gifty Ohene Konadu as the chairperson.

Addressing the Media at the launch of the 22nd Ghana International Trade Fair, the Deputy Trade and Industry Minister Carlos Ahenkorah said the NPP Government will transform the Ghana Trade Fair infrastructure which is in a deplorable state into an expo which will not serve as trade fair only but can be used for other purposes.

The La Trade Fair Centre has a long history dating back to 1967 when it was established by former President Dr Kwame Nkrumah. The Centre, which lies on a 127-acre land, has shops, exhibition halls, clinics and stands.

There are two major pavilions, Pavilion A and B. It has over the years played host to several trade exhibitions both local and international. But in recent times, there have been calls by the business community for the rehabilitation of the centre which is in a deplorable condition.

The 22nd edition is scheduled to start on 28th February 2018 to 7th March 2018 under the theme: Industrialising Ghana, Creating Jobs.
