Schalke Confirm Baba Rahman Talks With Chelsea

SCHALKE have confirmed they are in talks to sign Chelsea left-back Baba Rahman for a second time on loan.

The Ghana international has finally returned to full fitness a year after suffering cruciate ligament damage while playing for the German giants.

Rahman’s season-long loan spell was terminated after six months, and he has spent the past 12 building up his fitness at Stamford Bridge.

However, despite Antonio Conte needing more numbers in defence, it appears Rahman is not in his short-term plans.

The Italian revealed in a recent press conference that the ace’s immediate future was likely to be away from west London.

And Schalke have now revealed they are in negotiations to bring Rahman back to the Veltins-Arena.

Sporting director Christian Heidel said: “There is interest and Chelsea know that we are in talks.

“We have to clarify different situations and then the final decision will come.”

Heidel tried to sign Rahman back in the summer, but the player was kept at Chelsea to complete his rehabilitation.

He said at the time: “We are in talks with the player, his agent and Chelsea. Ultimately, it’s about when Baba will be able to play again.”
