Call Your ‘Abusive’ Supporters To Order - Sammy Awuku Tells Aspirants

The National Youth Organizer of the ruling New Patriotic Party(NPP) Sammy Awuku has warned aspirants of the National Youth Organizer position to demonstrate their readiness to occupy that position by calling their supporters who are engaging in politics of insults and vilification to order or have themselves to blame.

Sammy Awuku who expressed unhappiness about the level of intemperate and foul language being used by some supporters of the aspirants on social media platforms believes the trend if not stopped could hurt the youth front of the party after the elections which are scheduled later this year.

“I think there is too much foul language. The insults on the WhatsApp platforms are too much. There is one platform that almost every day the administrator had to delete people,” he said.

The NPP’s youth Commander who is contesting for the position of National Organizer of the party speaking on Oman FM’s political analysis programme “Boiling Point” argued that such foul and negative language could be used against the aspirants during vetting hence the need for them to do the needful.

He urged the supporters not forget that after the contest whoever is elected in the end will need the support of other contestants to work.

“There is brother against brother attack and what they forget is that whoever wins will need the support of the others to work."

Sammy Awuku who expressed confidence in the capacity of all the aspirants to deliver believes the next Youth Organizer should be a strategist who will work extra hard to consolidate the gains the NPP made during 2016.

He explained that his predecessor handed over a formidable youth wing to him and he had been able to hold forth and brought it to the current state.

"In 2020 the next youth organizer should work hard to consolidate the gains we made on the youth front during the 2016 general elections,” he advised.

“Whoever wins should make sure that he is in charge,” he said.
